Status of HPV Vaccine

  • June 29, 2006--ACIP recommended use of HPV vaccine
  • June 8, 2006--FDA licensed new vaccine for prevention of cervical cancer and other diseases in females caused by Human Papillomavirus.
    Recommendations of the ACIP become CDC policy once they are accepted by the director of the CDC and the Secretary of HHS and are published in CDCs Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR).
